First the photo is taped onto the pumpkin.

Then holes are poked outlining the photo.
|
Juice starts to flow as the holes are poked.
|
After the outline is done, the photo is removed.
|
The juices are then wiped off the pumpkin.
|

If you look closely you can see the outline of holes.
|
The lighter areas are scraped out.
|
Different depths will equal different degrees of "white" in the end.
|

After all the ligher areas are scraped out, the rough draft is complete.

The pumpkin is then empied and a hole cut in the back to put a light in.
|
After some final scraping, it is finished.
|
But to get the full effect, one must turn out the lights in the room.
